Drinking five cups of green tea per day may reduce the incidence of psychological distress by 20 percent.

In a study of more than 42,000 individuals, 6.6 percent suffered from psychological stress, and green tea consumption was found to improve their psychological well-being. Since it was an epidemiological study, the authors could not offer any evidence as to the reason for the apparent psychological benefits.

Green tea and its extracts already have a positive reputation, with studies reporting they may offer protective effects against Alzheimer’s and certain cancers, improve cardiovascular and oral health, and play a positive role in weight management.

Green tea also has L-theanine in it which has been shown to not only to boost your immunity, but also ease anxiety, nervousness, and mental fatigue.
