Like many I am someone who is always looking to improve my quality of life. What better way to add quality then starting with a good morning. I usually know how my day will be depending on how I feel when I roll out of bed. So if you need some ideas to add to your morning rituals here are a few simple, non-time consuming ways to try.
Put On Some Music
Music, especially soft uplifting music has shown to reduce stress and have a positive effect on health and attitude. Listening to music as you get ready and start your day will create positive energy and a soothing sense of peace. Also, replacing the radio and news with music on the drive to work in the morning can help keep you more positive and relaxed.
Stretch in the Shower
The hot water will loosen up your muscles, so it’s easier to get a good stretch. The act of stretching will help to release stored. This might also help to wake you up and get your blood circulating.
Eat a Balanced Breakfast
You always hear doctors and news articles talk about this, but it is true, eating a balance breakfast can balance your blood sugar levels and give you the sustenance you need to handle physical and mental stress. Without it, you will be less resilient, both physically and mentally. Be sure to have plenty of protein and fruit, not just caffeine!
Write in Your Journal
Writing in a journal has many health and stress management benefits, and can also lead to increased self-awareness. Writing once a day can help you feel focused, process negative emotions, and solve problems. I usually can get a paragraph a day in! If you don’t feel like handwriting your journal you can always type it online, or use services like blogger were you can save it, read it, and set it to private.
Morning Exercise
Walking and exercising like yoga have so many health benefit for you. This isn’t always the easiest morning ritual, but sometimes starting rountines like walking and yoga in the morning will make you sleep better. This in return might make you more willing to start your exercise routine in the morning. Walking also helps lower your stress levels, and reduce your risk of numerous health conditions. And if you bring a dog with you, you’ll be lavished with attention as well!
