What Does Meditation Do For The Body?

Meditation will do a lot to your body. It will control the body through mind. It will slowdown certain chemical reactions and control some of the neuro-excitatory hormones so that it will help in maintaining  health such as reduction of blood pressure, control of blood sugar, and improves the immunity of the person who practices it. Meditation For Third Chakra

Meditation For Third Chakra

I wanted to add this meditation for today because I have been noticing that many of us have been dragging, tired, and unmotivated. Now is a great time to help activate our third chakra or to help calm it down. Either way this quiet simple meditation will do just the trick.

Sit with your spin start either in a chair or on the floor. Close your eyes and bring your attention to the tip of the nose. Bring your hands together in prayer pose ( elbows bent as if you were praying), chant calmly “ong namo guru dev namo.” Take a deep breath in and relax it. Start chanting the mantra, “humee hum, brahm hum” (we are already everything we need to be). As you chant pull your navel in and release it.

Meditation. Am I doing this right?

Meditation. Am I doing this right?

I have many people ask me the same question over and over again, ” Am I meditating the right way?” The answer is always yes! There is never a wrong way to meditate. Meditation takes on many forms and many styles. As I go on in my meditation practice I find myself making up my own styles and techniques. Don’t think you have to limit yourself to such styles as guided, mindful, or mantra meditations, etc. The more fun and relaxing you make your experience the less likely you will feel like you are doing something wrong.

Sat Nam

Sat Nam

Sat Nam (truth is my identity) meditation is one I use very often. I like this meditation because I can do it almost anywhere and it is a quick way to set your mind back on track when you have lost focus.

Sit or lay down in a space that is quiet and calm

Gentley touch your thumb and index fingers together

Slowly and patiently inhale and exhale through your nose

On each inhale think Sat, on the exhale think Nam

Keep your focus at your brow or bridge of nose

If you have more time to focus you can careful find your pulse that beats between the index and thumb finger. Alternate between each beat Sat and then Nam. This technique may take some time, but once you learn it you will want to keep it as a tool for further meditations.
