Hate is an extremely powerful emotion, and holding onto it can certainly cause you to feel ill and depressed. When you allow your energy to be suppressed you give no way for new energy to enter. This can deteriorate ones whole life. When healing with hatred its best to mediate and shift conscious to the opposite effect; love! Why? Because love is what frees all chains of hate and let’s us evolve further thru life in a positive form.

    “Hate is an invisible chain.”

When you don’t let go of hate, you let the thing or person you hate maintain control over you. You allow the hatred to keep the channels of negative energy open, sucking out positive emotions and holding you back from true happiness.

Cut off the hate and move on! When you cleanse your mind and soul of grudges and negative thoughts, you make new room for positive emotions and joy. Take a moment today to consciously let go of all hatred. Savor the new energy that you’ll feel bursting through to take its place! Mediation For Woman

I had to put this into a post. This morning while watching Travel Channel they featured a city called Maharishi Vedic City in Iowa. This city was incorporated in 2001. The name “Vedic” comes from the Sanskrit word “Veda,” which means “knowledge.” The name “Maharishi” is in honor of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

This town’s principle surrounds such things as transdental meditation, housing that all faces east, and organic vedic diet. This is in part to promote health, happiness, and prosperity. Designs and other aspects of Maharishi Vedic Science, Vedic City has more than 40 buildings, including The Raj, a popular health spa and clinic, three resort hotels, business centers, condominiums, chalets, villas, and homes.

Maharishi Vedic City the features two huge domes, one for men and one for women, with residents streaming in to meditate together twice a day.

Vedic City is located two miles north of Fairfield in southeast Iowa, not far from the Cedar Rapids airport, in the central US state.

  4. How To Become Happy When You’re Depressed

    May 5th, 2010 By: Brittany

There are times through out life that we feel depressed. Many of us may encounter depression more regularly then others. Either way, it is important that we continue to not stay in a state of consistent depression. The hardest part about moving through depression, is lack of motivation. Let’s run through a few ideas to get you feeling better, and motivate you to become happy.

    1. Take a walk. Walking is a very good start towards feeling happy. Not only does walking make you feel more motivated, but research has shown that it helps with the effects of depression.

Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin measured the moods of two groups suffering from depression after a 30 minute period. One group spent the 30 minutes walking on a treadmill while the other group sat quietly. They were surveyed five minutes before the session and five, 30 and 60 minutes afterward. Although both groups reported a reduction in negative feelings only the group that exercised acknowledged they felt good after the session.

    2. Read or listen to something positive. It important to take into consideration that feeling depressed is very taxing on both our minds and body. Listening or reading to something is inspirational can quickly change our present outlook. Think of how you feel when you hear a touching story on the news, or read heart felts quotes. These all provoke a sense of positive thinking. Find quotes, read stories, or listen to a cd that inspires happiness.

    3. Learn forgiveness. Forgiving yourself and forgiving others is important for happiness. We tend to be happier and live happier lives when he let go of our anger, hatred, and dislike for ourselves and others. Negativity can way you down and make you collapse into a deeper state of depression. Learn to forgive your self first. The best way to do this is to stand in front of a mirror as often as you need to, and tell youself, ” I forgive myself, I deserve love and I deserve happiness.” Once you’ve forgiven yourself; forgive others.

Although holding on to anger and hostile feelings can increase the risk of heart disease, forgiveness can diminish that risk. Not only does forgiveness reduce chronic stress, it also increases your sense of self control, which lessens the chance that you’ll overreact in stressful situations. Bottom Line Secrets

    4. Help others. When we help others we help heal ourselves. Helping people for the sake of helping will not only help motivate you to go out and participate, but it will also make you feel needed. You could help a elderly neighbor wake her dog, read stories at your local children’s hospital, or you could volunteer at a soup kitchen. These are just a few things that make you difference for others, but can make a difference for you too.

    5. Stand up for yourself. Letting others walk all over you can make you feel less of a person. Certainly, we don’t like to feel that we do or say doesn’t matter. Stand up to others when you feel others aren’t listening or giving you any credit. Many people who feel depressed at work feel so because they let their co-workers and manager walk over them. Standing up is important for self-esteem, self confidence, and motivation.

  6. Celebrating Earth’s Day 40th Year

    April 22nd, 2010 By: Brittany

    Earth Day April 22nd 2010

    Earth Day April 22nd 2010

Earth Day’s history is rooted in the activist-driven 1960s, when the environment was in visible ruins and people were angry, according to Rogers.

“It wasn’t uncommon in some cities during rush hour to be standing on a street corner and not be able to see across the street” because of pollution, she said.

Despite the anger, green issues were absent from the U.S. political agenda. This frustrated U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin, whose campaigns for the environment through much of the 1960s had fallen flat.

In 1969 Nelson hit on the idea of an environmental protest modeled after anti-Vietnam War demonstrations called teach-ins.

Nelson recruited activist Denis Hayes to organize the April 22, 1970, Earth Day teach-in, which today is sometimes credited for launching the modern environmental movement.

By the end of 1970, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency had been born, and efforts to improve air and water quality were gaining political traction.

What people are doing to celebrate Earth Day.

Planting Trees.  As the date also roughly coincides with U.S. Arbor Day, over time Earth Day has taken on the role of tree-planting.

Make nature crafts at school or home. Getting together with friends and family and help build bird houses or make a bird feeder to encourage the local bird population, which plays an important role in every ecosystem.

Litter clean up. Many people search local streets, parks, and beaches for litter.

Earth Fairs. Many are heading up and setting up Earth fairs all over in honor of Earth Day.

Preparing a Earth Day meal. One of are readers sent us a reply for her Earth Day contribution. Pamela K., said she is cooking an all oragnic and locally farmed meal for her church group. It is a tradition she said she has carried now for 3 years.

  7. 5 Tips To Help Make Decisions To Change Life’s Journey

    April 19th, 2010 By: Brittany

Confidence comes not from always being right but from not fearing to be wrong.  ~Peter T. Mcintyre

I recently went out of town this past weekend. What an amazing trip we had. I highly recommended going to the beach as much as you can get away to go. If you don’t live near a beach then even a place that holds beauty and enlightenment to you is perfect. My husband and I are starting a new journey in our lives together. My husband who wants to daringly get away from the corporate world is getting set to start his own web design based business. I am on route to my business in counseling, and we are expecting another baby at the end of the year. Needless, to say it has been a big 2010 already!

I have come across both friends, family, and acquaintances who are venturing into a new world that feels very foreign and uncomfortable. Many are unhappy with work, with themselves, and with their relationships. They are ready to make a change, but are unsure how to make it. Much of the energy on the planet right now is very fear based. If you are feeling unsure about your finances or your ability to have success you are probably feeling some of that energy as your own. The best way to reassure yourself is to get as much info as you can. If you are struggling to get to that information here is are 15 tips to set you up with confidence.

    1. Buy a journal. I think this is most important. It is not to use just for journaling your thoughts and feelings, but it is also to take notes, answers questions, and make agendas.

    2. Buy a book. It’s important to start out with books that pertain to your interest of interest at hand. If relationships are what you want to change then research books on them and start with one that catches your attention.

    3. Take a class. There are many classes that are being offered all over the nation that help to self motivated and keep encouragement alive. Taking a class on starting a business, making a business plan, or becoming yoga certified (whatever your interest is in). Taking a class will  help you become informed, will encourage you to stay on your path, and will increase confidence in yourself.

    4. Shift your focus. This is sometimes hard to do when you aren’t yet on path you want. However, shifting your attention to your focus and intent will get you to where you want to be faster. When you shift your focus your mind and body start to help you focus on the new shifts in life. This is how new habitats are formed.

    5. Take a vacation. This doesn’t mean you have to buy tickets to Hawaii. It simply means as stated above; go to a place that enlightenment always finds you. It could be camping, it could be going to a beach or lake, or it could be exploring the country. It does not have to be long and it does not have to be expensive. The point of vacations is to relax. When we free are minds of the everyday stress that feels confining we often can better picture and form our lives.

    Blessings
