Build Your Confidence

Build Your Confidence

Having self confidence for many is a lifetime battle. It is sometimes much easier to give advice to others about how to be confident, but not as easy to give ourselves confidence. Remember, confidence come within. None of use are born perfect and none of use are meant to be perfect. We have flaws and we all make mistakes. It is important to not judge yourself because of this. So, what are somethings to recognize when you want to help improve your confidence.

1. Right down your insecurities. We’ve all felt insecure at one time or another. It’s important to make a list of the things that really make you feel insecure or ashamed about you. This doesn’t have to be about physical insecurities, it could also be about internal ones.

2. Don’t view your self as below everyone else. You have just as many great talents as the next person. Don’t beat your self up because you can’t walk on your hands like your friend, or you feel you can’t get the job you want because you’re not good enough. It’s important to break this subconscious belief so that you don’t feel you are a victim. Remember, you have talents too don’t be afraid to show them.

3. Talk about how you feel. Don’t be afraid to talk about feeling unconfident. Talking about it helps you to identify and get reassurance. Talking to someone about this can help you build confidence by sharing your personal feelings with others.

4. Fake it. Acting confident might actually make you believe it. Pretend you’re a completely confident version of you; go through the motions, stand up tall, smile, and see how you feel.

5. This is most important-Be grateful for what you have. Many times we forget what we have been given, and linger on what we don’t have. Many insecurities come from not feeling like we can compete with what others have that we don’t. Don’t dwell because you don’t have the fancy convertible that you want, or the nice condo down town. Often, not remembering what we have been given can hinder our goals and ambitions even more.

Organic On The Cheap

Organic On The Cheap

The Gorgeously Green Diet, by Sophia Ulianao, has some great recipes for everyone who wants to stay on a budget and also eat organic. It even gives great recipes and even a shopping list for in budget meals. Uliano offers three different lean and green eating plans—Light Green, Bright Green, and Deep Green.

I used to think that it was okay for people who could afford to shop in health stores to eat organically, but what about the family of five who doesn’t have the time to go anywhere other than a fast-food burger joint and get what’s on offer? I decided to do a bit of research, convinced that I could cook a large, organic dinner for a family of five for less than a Burger King meal. I took myself off to the burger joint and did my calculations based on each member of the family having a large burger, large fries, and a drink.

I then went shopping for a good, healthy, delicious meal, and here’s what I came up with: Tuscan Chicken Stew—serves five. It came in at six dollars under the fast food bill. ~Sophia Uliano
