Wake Up To Happiness

I love little saying like this!

Taking Time To Breath At The Beach

Taking Time To Breath At The Beach

Top 5 reasons to head to the beach:

1. Leave the stress behind. At the beach we can leave our work behind, and take full advantage of time with our families and ourselves.

2. The beach provides better atmosphere, and for us in Oregon better air. Take a walk on the beach and fill your body with cleaner air.

3. Dig your feet into the sand, build sand castles, and watch the sunrise over the water. None of that sounds too bad to me.

Life Change: Growing A Family

Life Change: Growing A Family

This week I want to take some time to talk about growing a family. I have had many people, including myself who are very interested right now in growing their families (in my case expanding). With the economic times that many people are facing right now it makes it hard for so many people to really consider starting. The best way to approach this subject is to simply start talking about it. Engage your partner in a conversation that is not defensive about the subject. Often I am finding people whose partners are not as apt to start this process as they are. The best advice is give it time, but be prepared to talk a lot.

As with any situation you need to start a list of the pros and cons. This is not to be an encouragement or discouragement; it is simply to see what the situation looks like right now. Be specific about them both, can you afford the birthing fees? Can you pay for health insurance? Will someone stay home with the baby, or will we need to find childcare? These are all reasonable questions to ask and answer before consciously starting.

For us who are ahead of a game over our partners make sure you don’t start to feel resent towards your partner. Know where they stand and understand why they feel that way. If it because of money then see how you both can cut costs. There are always solutions to come to, but you must be patient. The wait it takes will pay off in the end.

Rolfing. A New Massage?

Rolfing. A New Massage?

I had the opportunity to witness a rolfing massage session with a friend. Though I have not had a personal session with this particular massage I have been told that the benefits out way that of your standard massage. If you are like many people who spend much of your time at a desk all day you may benefit from this experience.

So, what is the difference between the two? Massage helps relieve tension, alleviates soft tissue pain, and improves mental state. Rolfing goes further to actually change the structure of the body to correct the sources of tension, so that the tension is unnecessary and the body and spirit are essentially improved.

Poor posture and poor alignment is learned over the years. Our muscle fibers react to an injury and we might favor that injured part of the body. We might favor the injury long after the injury has healed because the fibers retain a long memory of the injury. Rolfing helps to change the structure of the connective fascia to regain alignment and structure.

Benefits To Drinking Almond Milk

Benefits To Drinking Almond Milk

Have you ever considered almond milk as great alternative to lactose and dairy free milk? Don’t get me wrong dairy milk has its benefits, but for people who can’t drink it there isn’t always the best alternatives out there. Almond milk has some great health benefits to consider. If you are not allergic to almonds this drink is also great for any occasion.

What are the benefits to almond milk? Well, almonds are a good source of magnesium and Vitamin E, as well as selenium, and manganese. Most almond milk purchased in a store is fortified with additional calcium. Almond skins are also a rich source of flavonoids, which help to protect the heart. Almonds have been shown in studies to lower levels of LDL cholesterol as well as protect against heart disease and cholesterol. Also, they’re high in protein and low in carbohydrates.
